From the beginning we were importing quality European equipment. Seeing a greater opportunity for expansion, and a need in the market for a truly specialized turf equipment distributor, we seized this opportunity and STEC Equipment was realized. Our business model is purposefully different from the norm. Four years ago we felt the need to steer away the traditional dealer network, and go direct to the end user. We found that the dealers already had a lot of other equipment to sell, and didn’t concentrate on our specialized products. They fell short in the knowledge and service aspect, and relied heavily on us to fill the gap.
We decided to purge our system, and shake things up a bit. With both the economy and golf industry struggling for footing, almost all could sense that the industry needed some change. At STEC Equipment, we always try to stay ahead of the curve, and set the trends for others to follow. Our direct sales concept worked far beyond our expectations, allowing us to offer our customers higher quality support in all aspects; sales, service, and supply.
With this increased customer contact and new approach in place, we shifted our focus to expanding our product line in order to fulfill the needs our customers were expressing, as well as to fill the void of a specialized equipment distributor that they could trust. While we already had several core lines and products, like AFT Trenchers and GKB Machines (Combinator, Sandfiller, Drainmaster), we knew that our customers still had other needs. We also knew that, no matter what, we had to stay true to our core principles and our name, specialized turf equipment.
STEC Equipment was already known for having the highest quality and latest European innovation, so we continued this legacy by taking on the North American distributorship for two big players in the market: TRILO, with their extensive range of turf vacuums, blowers, and verticutters. And, ROTADAIRON, makers of the legendary Soil Renovator, that buries debris and rocks, making a perfect seed bed in one pass. These two new additions, along with our own STEC brand equipment featuring the Ground Quake Sand Injector, have set us apart as the market leader in specialized turf equipment. STEC Equipment is also the largest distributor of sand injection equipment in the golf and sports field markets, with the AFT Sandbander, STEC Sand Injector, and GKB Sandfiller and Drainmaster. We have the answer to all your sand amendment and drainage needs for greens, tees, fairways, and sports fields.
With 2010 quickly coming to an end we are focusing on what changes and improvements STEC Equipment can make for the year to come. Since we have the specialized equipment that our customers need, we are looking to maintain our positive momentum by moving into a new facility in 2011, as well as adding four new regional sales reps so we are better able to reach customers nationwide.
