New Aldwickbury Park Golf Club General Manager Andrew Shewbridge has joined the club vowing to further enhance the high quality and standards on offer at the club.
The 36-year-old, who was previously Operations Manager at London Golf Club, in Kent, has joined Aldwickbury Park – part of Burhill Golf & Leisure, the UK’s leading golf course owner and operator – having spent seven years at the European Tour Destination.
Andrew is a seasoned operator with a wealth of experience at top class venues, he intends to bring his knowledge of outstanding customer service, course maintenance and club management to take Aldwickbury Park ‘to the next level.’
He is keen to build upon the close ties Aldwickbury Park enjoys with businesses around Harpenden and the local community.
He said: “The golf club is an extremely important part of the local community and I want to enhance the links between the club and build upon the ties already in place with local businesses, creating partnerships that will bring more benefits to both the club’s members and the local area.
“I’m excited by the opportunity at Aldwickbury Park and believe that my experience within the golf industry will allow me to further enhance the high standards and customer service at the facility.”
Andrew started his career at Broke Hill, Kent, where he was an Assistant Professional before making the switch to the management side of the business. He joined London Golf Club as Deputy General Manager in May 2004 and was involved in the regeneration of the business, including the redevelopment of the clubhouse and golf courses.
One of Andrew’s key responsibilities was planning and staging of large events, including three European Senior Tour events, two European Opens and most recently Golf Live in 2011.
