Arborjet & Ecologel Form New Turf Products Sales Division

Arborjet & Ecologel, industry leaders in tree and plant health care, and premier developers and manufacturers of innovative products for water conservation, are pleased to announce the formation of a new Turf Products Sales Division, with the addition of three dynamic, new hires: Rebecca Knapp, Eric Steffensen, and Carin Prechtl. “This expansion will broaden the expert resources both companies already have and allow Arborjet & Ecologel to significantly enhance their position in the marketplace, making a direct impact on turf science, sales and distribution across the country,” states Arborjet’s Director of Commercial Sales Mark Andrews.

Rebecca Knapp joins Arborjet & Ecologel with 15 years of industry experience, including prior work with both Major League Baseball and Major League Soccer teams: Philadelphia Phillies, New York Mets, and most recently, the Arizona Diamondbacks. She was also the Assistant Turf and Grounds Manager for Houston Dynamo and prior to her time in professional sports turf, worked with LCO’s as an Account Manager and Contract Administrator.

Knapp is a graduate of Penn State University with a degree in Turfgrass Science. “I developed a passion for the industry through my love of athletics and an appreciation of a pristine, well-manicured field,” said Knapp. She will support both Arborjet & Ecologel products in the Golf, Sports Turf and Nursery Markets; developing new business and providing technical knowledge and support across the western region covering Arizona, Southern California, and Nevada.

Eric Steffensen will cover the Southeast region of the country working to expand sales and distribution of the company’s turf product line. Also a graduate of Penn State with a BS in Turfgrass Science, Steffensen has worked in the green industry his entire career. He has 20 years of experience and worked at his first golf course at the age of 16. Steffensen owned and operated his own residential turf business, before relocating from Charlotte, NC to Nashville, TN.  He then went on to work for Sigma Organics, where he actually brought on the Arborjet product line!

Steffensen says he found his passion “through the satisfaction and the immediacy of the results he sees; striping a fairway, for example, or a landscape install that I’ve designed gives me the continued desire to delve deeper and to ultimately improve upon the results on each and every job!” In his role as Eastern Regional Sales Manager, Eric Steffensen will support both Arborjet & Ecologel products in the Golf, Turf, and Nursery markets; developing new business and providing technical knowledge to all sectors of the green industry.

As the Regional Sales Manager for the Hawaiian Islands, Carin Prechtl is responsible for supporting sales staff and end users of Arborjet & Ecologel products, with a primary focus on Sports Turf, Golf, Commercial Turf, and Nursery applications. Prechtl began working at Arborjet in the Spring of 2019, with field experience in landscape installation and maintenance practices. Her previous roles include Nursery Manager and Landscape Designer. Prechtl has a Bachelor’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Delaware, where she was one of the first graduates of the Landscape Architecture program and was awarded the 2018 Outstanding Representative to University of Delaware’s Landscape Architecture program.

Prechtl developed greater enthusiasm for the industry when she realized that with her background in Landscape Architecture, she could combine her love for creativity and beauty with a technical and functional side. Prechtl adds, “Not only do I enjoy designing outdoor space and making it look beautiful, but I also enjoy giving it a purpose and a reason to be utilized. I’m really excited about this opportunity to work with Arborjet & Ecologel, as they have always been at the forefront of environmentally responsible plant, tree and turf maintenance.”
