The ASGCA Foundation is returning to Pinehurst Resort for its second Design Boot Camp, March 9–13, 2026. After the success of the inaugural event, this hands-on immersive experience brings together golf course architecture enthusiasts and aspiring designers for five days of intensive learning and fieldwork.
Participants will begin in a classroom setting, learning core golf course architecture principles, before heading out to the Pinehurst Sandmines—adjacent to Pinehurst No. 10—for practical site analysis, routing exercises, and hole-design sessions rooted in the unique terrain of the Sandmines property.
The faculty includes nine distinguished ASGCA past presidents and leading architects, such as Jan Bel Jan, Jeff Blume, Jeff Brauer, Bruce Charlton, Steve Forrest, Mike Hurdzan, Tom Marzolf, Damian Pascuzzo, and Bill Coore (of Coore & Crenshaw), who will lead a site tour of the under-construction Pinehurst No. 11.
In addition to hands-on design work, the schedule includes golf on Pinehurst No. 2 and The Cradle with instructors offering real-time design commentary, social events, and discussions about the business side of golf course architecture.
Enrollment is capped at 16 participants, and the cost is $20,000 per person (with $15,000 of that amount potentially tax-deductible through the ASGCA Foundation). Lodging is included at the historic Holly Inn in Pinehurst Village, along with food, golf, caddies and gratuities, educational materials, and keepsakes.
Design Boot Camp offers a rare opportunity to study golf-course architecture in the field under the guidance of internationally recognized designers, all at one of the sport’s most iconic venues.
