Big Cedar Lodge to Add Par 3 Course in Summer of 2025

Big Cedar Lodge, a premier golf destination in Missouri, is set to expand its impressive portfolio with the addition of “Cliffhangers,” an 18-hole par-three course scheduled to open in summer 2025.

Designed by resort owner Johnny Morris, Cliffhangers will feature holes ranging from 60 to 165 yards, incorporating significant elevation changes and a variety of green sizes with challenging slopes. The course is situated on a dramatic hillside adjacent to the Payne’s Valley course, offering golfers breathtaking views of the Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake.

One of the course’s standout features is the fourth hole, which is set alongside a cascading waterfall and provides panoramic vistas of the surrounding landscape. Additionally, during construction, a natural limestone cave was discovered near the third hole. This cave has been structurally reinforced to allow golfers to play through it, adding a unique and immersive experience to the round.

Cliffhangers will be the third par-three course at Big Cedar Lodge, joining the 13-hole Mountain Top designed by Gary Player and the nine-hole Top of the Rock by Jack Nicklaus, which was the first par-three course to host an officially sanctioned PGA Tour event. Morris and his team have high expectations for Cliffhangers to achieve similar recognition.

Golf enthusiasts can look forward to experiencing this innovative course that seamlessly blends challenging play with the natural beauty of the Ozarks upon its opening in summer 2025.
