Bio S.I. helps optimize turf growth while reducing maintenance costs

As the sports and leisure industry suffers through a hard-hit economy, many golf courses and sports fields have been forced to make cut-backs in order to stay afloat. It is during these trying times that business owners and managers are required to become more clever in the ways that they maintain their facilities. In response to this growing need, Bio S.I. Technology (www.biositechnology.com) aims to educate groundskeepers and supervisors of the cost-efficient and natural ways in which they can keep their turf healthy all year-round.

Founded in 1996 and backed by a team of experts, Bio S.I. Technology has developed and perfected a cutting-edge microbial formula that breaks down chemical residues in the soil, thatch, and other plant debris, recycling these nutrients enabling it to rebuild soil humus and produce healthier, greener grass with less fertilizer. Years of over-use causes the soil to crust and become compacted, leaving little to no space for air or water to penetrate the soil. In addition, studies show that a greater risk of pollution in turf fields is due to the run-off of pesticides and fertilizers that come from closely mown areas. This risk can be increased by over-watering, over-application of chemicals and compaction of soil.1

Fortunately, Bio S.I.’s Turf Formula uses naturally occurring microbes to loosen the soil and allow water to be more easily absorbed. Turf Formula also improves the root system improving the uptake of fertilizers that are used reducing the run off. This improvement reduces the risk of chemical run-off and contamination that manicured fields are often subjected to. Better yet, by enhancing the effectiveness of the soil’s capability to absorb water and grow healthy grass roots, groundskeepers are able to reduce the amount of fertilizer and water used, thereby saving the facility money without taking away from the needs of the turf.

One grounds maintenance lead from Lewisville, Texas who used the formula reported that “after using Bio S.I. on 68 acres of sports fields, the canopy was thicker, the root mass was denser and deeper, there was little or no standing water after irrigation and worn spots filled in faster. The grass responded so well that we cut two applications of fertilizer and want to increase the use to approximately 1000 acres.”

Bio S.I.’s Turf Formula can be applied easily and through a variety of means, including surface spray rigs, pivots with injection systems, drip systems or sprinkler systems. Whether the turf in question is a golf course or a football field, the formula works well in enhancing all soil types. In addition, the Bio S.I.’s Turf Formula is available in a range of quantities to accommodate any amount of acreage, including quarts, gallons, drums, totes or tankers.

With the ever-increasing costs of chemicals and the high risks associated with their over-use, Bio S.I. Technology makes it easy, cost-efficient and environmentally friendly to start rebuilding soil naturally.
