Cimarron Hills Golf & Country Club Welcomes New Golf Course Superintendent

Terry Negen as the club’s new golf course superintendent

Cimarron Hills Golf & Country Club in Georgetown, Texas recently welcomed Terry Negen as the club’s new golf course superintendent. In his new position, Negen will oversee the maintenance of the club’s 18-hole Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course, its expansive golf practice facilities, and the club’s agronomy team.

Negen has been a golf course superintendent for 20-plus years, serving at clubs in Minnesota, Iowa, and Arizona. He most recently served as the golf course superintendent for the Geronimo Course at Desert Mountain in Carefree, Ariz.

He has served on the board of directors of the local chapters of the Golf Course Superintendents Association of America in Minnesota and Iowa and has mentored dozens of current superintendents across the country.

“The team and membership are very excited to attract a talent like Terry,” said Robbie Kearney, PGA, general manager, Cimarron Hills Golf & Country Club. “We are looking forward to welcoming Terry and all of his experience which will be invaluable to his team and the membership as we continue to improve agronomic playing conditions.”

Originally from Montevideo, Minn. Negen enjoys playing golf and finding the “next great dive restaurant with great food” in his spare time.

“I go by the motto, if I want my team to do tasks, I will be in the trenches right along with them,” said Negen. “I look forward to making Cimarron Hills the talk of the great state of Texas and bringing tournament quality conditions to the membership.”

Managed by Troon Privé, the private club operating division of Troon, Cimarron Hills Golf & Country Club opened on January 1, 2003. The Club features a Jack Nicklaus Signature Design golf course that meanders through beautiful rolling hills of Texas ranch land and over the years has matured into a stunning 7,300-yard, oak-tree lined masterpiece.
