EasyTurf lays out lawn for Wounded Warriors, Caregivers (Mar 10)

March 10, 2015 – EasyTurf joined Gary Sinise and his Lt. Dan Band at Naval Medical Center San Diego Feb. 7 to honor wounded service members and the staff who care for them.

EasyTurf transformed the street in front of the hospital into a lush, green lawn for service members and families to kick back and enjoy the Lt. Dan Band show and picnic with lunch provided in party by Celebrity Chef Robert Irvine.

“We always excited when we have an opportunity to honor our service members and their families,” said Dave Hartman, EasyTurf President. “It was fun transforming their concrete and asphalt parking lot into a soft grass lawn so they could enjoy the day’s events ’at the park.’”

Along with the band and celebrity lunch, service members, staff and families were treated to games, bouncy houses and contests. This marked the third year of the event and EasyTurf’s involvement.

“Our ‘lawn’ has been a hit. We were able to create a much more ’park-like’ atmosphere, family friendlier – than the parking lot,” Hartman said. “These men and women chose to serve their country for us, and this was just one way to show our appreciation for all they have sacrificed.”

EasyTurf has long offered a military appreciation discount and continues to extend a $500 discount on an installation greater than 500 sq. ft. to any who retired from our Armed Forces or still wear the uniform.
