FabriTec Structures Secures Sanjeev Tankha As Design Director for West Coast Headquarters

FabriTec Structures, a brand of USA SHADE & Fabric Structures, Inc., has announced the hiring of Sanjeev Tankha as Design Director based in their Southern California headquarters. Mr.Tankha brings to the company more than 15 years of experience in the design and construction of tensile fabric structures, long span cable systems, and custom façades. FabriTec President, Claude Centner, notes the significance of Tankha’s hiring saying, “Sanjeev’s expertise and unique perspective provides an added dimension to the services we provide our clients. We are very excited to have him as a key member of our Design Development Team.”

Formerly of Gensler, where he held the position of Associate & Senior Designer, Sanjeev was instrumental in developing innovative solutions to complex design challenges all over the world. Tankha’s most acclaimed projects include the People Mover Station at the MGM CityCenter in Las Vegas; SEC Headquarters Building, the world’s first double curved cable net supported facade in Washington DC; and New Poly Plaza Building, the world’s largest cable net facade in Beijing, China.

Always at the forefront of innovative design, Sanjeev has been instrumental in the research and development of High Performance Building Envelopes which focuses on design issues related to the performance of buildings. He is a frequent guest lecturer at the USC School of Architecture on building technology. His unique talents have earned him numerous IFAI International Achievement Awards for tension structure design on multiple projects dating as far back as 1996. He is also a recipient of the SEAOC Engineering Award of Excellence for his Casino Morongo Steel Grid Shell Structure design.

Sanjeev holds a Masters of Building Science from the USC School of Architecture and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the School of Planning and Architecture in New Delhi. He is LEED certified and is an active member of the U.S Green Building Council (USGBC).
