Golf 20/20 Names Donnellon to its Communications Committee

Donnellon is president of Macali Communications, a marketing PR firm that specializes in golf marketing, PR and social media. Golf 20/20’s mission is to galvanize the industry around analytic initiatives and grass roots activation to ensure the future vitality of the game of golf.

He will assist 20/20 in its important Image of the Game Campaign which seeks to communicate golf’s economic, philanthropic and environmental benefits. He joins industry experts from golf businesses, associations, and media on this committee.

His golf and communications experience, especially in the valuable and growing business strategy of digital and social media, will offer a distinct perspective and advantage to our committee,” says Cathy Harbin, Director, Golf 20/20 of the World Golf Foundation. “His blog on golf marketing, PR and social media is valued for its insights, ideas, advice and recommendations.”

He has more than 30 years of experience with major agencies and corporations including Wilson Sports, SeeMore Putter Co., Fujikura, AJGA, Allen Edmonds, True Temper, Gatorade, Sears, Lands’ End, Miller Brewing Co., Procter & Gamble, Quaker Oats, Citibank, Burson Marsteller, Ketchum Communications and Golin Harris Communications.

Donnellon is an Evans Scholars Alumnus. He is Director of the Western Golf Association, member of the Golf Writers Association of America, International Network of Golf, Marketing Executives Network Group, American Marketing Association and the Publicity Club of Chicago. He graduated from the Ohio State University and lives in Chicago.

Golf 20/20 is a collaborative effort of many forces within the golf industry, from the associations and manufacturers to the course owners/operators and the media, focused on the game and its future. Golf 20/20 is managed by the World Golf Foundation, which also oversees the World Golf Hall of Fame & Museum in St. Augustine, FL and The First Tee, a preeminent youth-development organization. Golf 20/20 is overseen by an Executive Board comprised of leaders from a broad cross-section of the golf industry.
