Cactus & Pine Golf Course Superintendent Association
A study released this month showed Arizona received a $3.9 billion boost to the economy thanks to golf in 2014.
The study, conducted by the University of Arizona and funded by the Cactus & Pine Golf Course Superintendent Association as well as other course management companies, sought to determine the impact of golf on the state’s economy.
The study found golf courses contributed $1.1 billion from gold tourism, $2.5 billion from direct operations and the remainder $347 million from golf-related activities.
Golf’s impact isn’t limited to jobs. The study found that its presence has given a $2.1 billion combined premium to homes located in golf course communities around the state.
