Greenworks Commercial Joins We Are Golf For National Mall Community Service Project

Greenworks Commercial, leaders in battery-powered outdoor equipment for landscaping professionals, today joined WE ARE GOLF (WAG), a coalition of the game’s leading associations and industry partners, for its National Mall service project to kick off the 10th Annual National Golf Day celebration. The initiative, which took place Tuesday, April 25 from 8 a.m.-12 p.m. EST on the National Mall, focused on beautification, land preservation and helping the National Park Service with turf deferred maintenance activities.

National Golf Day shines a spotlight on the game’s nearly $70 billion economy, $4 billion annual charitable impact, and many environmental and fitness benefits.  On April 26, industry leaders will meet with Members of Congress, the Executive Branch and federal agencies to discuss golf’s 15,000-plus diverse businesses, two million jobs impacted, tax revenue creation and tourism value.

To demonstrate its support of the initiative and the golf industry as a whole, Greenworks Commercial employees actively participated in the beautification effort and the company supplied volunteers with its award-winning lithium-ion backpack and handheld blowers to use during the project.  Greenworks Commercial’s 82-volt blowers provide users with comparable run-time and power to leading gas-powered blowers, but offer significant reduction in noise-levels and the elimination of emissions.

“We were thrilled for the opportunity to join WE ARE GOLF for this important project,” said Chris Allen, President of Greenworks North America. “The golf industry has quickly become a large focus for our commercial business.  Golf course maintenance professionals are looking for tools that can get the job done without disturbing the serene surroundings of the course and clubhouse.  Similarly, we know event volunteers and tourists alike valued our blowers’ noise-reducing properties and environmental-friendliness as they took in the treasure that is the National Mall.”
