KemperSports has elevated industry veteran Dave Groelle to the role of National Agronomist. With over 25 years at KemperSports, Groelle will now lead agronomy teams, oversee development projects, and advance environmental initiatives across the company’s course portfolio.
Groelle started his career with KemperSports as an Assistant Superintendent at Kemper Lakes, then played major roles in the build-outs of The Glen Club and Royal Melbourne. Over the years, he’s also contributed to renovations and new developments at Tepetonka, Cantigny, Winnetka Golf Club, and others.
In his new role, Groelle will head KemperSports’ environmental program, Green to a Tee, focusing on sustainable practices—covering habitat management, water and fuel conservation, energy efficiency, and recycling.
KemperSports CEO Steve Skinner noted that while Groelle’s technical expertise is impressive, it’s his communication and coaching skills that really make him the right fit. As golf‐course conditions remain a core performance metric, Groelle’s leadership is expected to raise consistency and quality across the portfolio.
Groelle commented, “I’m excited to expand my role and help support our superintendents across the company using the experience I’ve built over the years.”
