Little GOBBLERs Program Supports 310 Families at Thanksgiving

SOLitude Lake Management is proud to announce that the company served a record number of families through the Little GOBBLERs program this month. This annual program provides food and donations to ensure families across the country are able to celebrate Thanksgiving.

SOLitude, an industry leader in lake, stormwater pond, wetland and fisheries management, donated $7,475 in turkeys and grocery store gift cards to 310 under-resourced families located in Whitinsville, MA; Bethel, CT; Fort Plain, NY; Oxford, NJ; West Grove, PA; Lincoln, DE; Fredericksburg, VA; Charlottesville, VA;  Norfolk, VA; Newport News, VA; Raleigh, NC; Leland, NC; Shallotte, NC; Ravenel, SC; Tiger, GA; Cape Coral, FL; Lake Worth, FL; Tampa, FL; Orlando, FL;  Murfreesboro, TN; Jackson, MS; Hearne, TX; Tyler, TX; Conifer, CO; and Glendale, AZ.

SOLitude worked with 33 elementary, middle and high schools in each of these regions to identify families in need. School principals and guidance counselors collected the donated items from SOLitude on behalf of the families and ensured they were distributed appropriately.

“In our community, the number of families in need has grown significantly over the last few years. The Little GOBBLERs program could not have come at a better time,” said Teri Yonsky, Director of Fiscal Services at Bethel School District in Bethel, CT. “Ten local families will now have a delicious turkey on their holiday table. Thank you, SOLitude Lake Management, for your generosity through the Little GOBBLERs program!”

SOLitude’s 2018 contributions exceed 2017 by 19 percent. Last year, SOLitude provided $6,300 in goods and donations to 260 families. Since the inception of the Little GOBBLERs program in 2012, SOLitude has donated $28,775 and helped more than 1,300 children and families have a happier Thanksgiving.

Little GOBBLERs is one of several initiatives supported by The SOLution, a company-wide program that encourages the company and all employees to strive to “create a better world” through volunteerism, community outreach, sustainability and environmental consciousness. SOLitude’s company leadership feels it is important to not only be good stewards of the environment, but also to fulfill company core values to “take action and be accountable” and to “protect and respect nature.” To learn more, visit solitudelakemanagement.com/solution.
