Macro-Sorb Technologies and SMS Additive Solutions hires Eric Greytok (Jan 5)

January 5, 2015 – Eric Greytok, a former golf course superintendent who hosted two U.S. Opens, PGA Tour events and multiple USGA national championships, was recently named national sales director for Macro-Sorb Technologies and SMS Additive Solutions.

Greytok will direct sales activities for both companies, implementing agronomic programs, strategic planning and new product development, as well as provide assistance and product training for golf course and sports turfgrass professionals throughout the country.

A 1996 graduate of Penn State with a bachelor’s degree in turfgrass science, Greytok began his career at Merion Golf Club in Philadelphia. There, he spent two years as a spray technician and assistant superintendent, working under Paul B. Latshaw. He also spent time at Riviera Country Club in Los Angeles and Congressional Country Club in Washington, D.C., working under the guidance of Paul R. Latshaw. He then joined Pebble Beach Golf Links, one of the world’s most recognizable golf courses.

In 2000, while at Pebble Beach, Greytok became the youngest golf course superintendent to host a U.S. Open. He was 27. In 2001, Greytok went to Winged Foot Golf Club in Mamaronek, N.Y., where he hosted the 2004 U.S. Amateur and the 2006 U.S. Open. He served as golf course superintendent there until 2007.

Greytok then spent five years as golf course superintendent at Belfair Plantation Golf Club in Hilton Head, S.C. Most recently, he was golf course superintendent at Eagle Point Golf Club in Wilmington, N.C.

“We are thrilled to have Eric join Macro-Sorb and SMS Additive Solutions,” said Michael Kubinec, vice president for both companies. “His vast experience in golf course turf management will be invaluable to the companies as we increase distribution of our current products and introduce new solutions for the golf course industry.”

A native of suburban Philadelphia, Greytok now lives in Chico, Calif., with his wife, Kelly, and two children, Joe, 11, and Kendall, 9.
