Mohali Golf Range nominated for Best Driving Range award

March 22, 2016 – The Mohali Golf Range has all reasons to cheer as the Indian Golf Industry Association (IGIA) has nominated it for the ‘Best Driving Range’ category award at the India Golf Expo 2016.

To win the award, the range needs voting in its favour through emails and social media promotion. People in the golf equipment industry and a cross section of amateur golfers across the country have the rights to vote for the award. The IGIA awards include — Best New 9 Hole Golf Course, Best New 18 Hole Golf Course, Best Renovated Golf Course, Most Tourist Friendly Golf Course, Best Public Golf Course and Best Driving Range. The winners will be announced at the India Golf Expo in Gurgaon.

Elated over the nomination, international golfer and Arjuna awardee Harmeet Singh Kahlon said, ‘As many as 275 new players including 80 children have been coached so far. Apart from that, we had a number of events including golf camps, orientation programmes, summer and winter golf clinics and camps for players. An Independence Day Golf Competition was also held here.’ The range spread across 11 acres has the capacity to accommodate 70 golfers at one time. It also has facilities like double-tier 48 astroturf hitting bays, 900 sq yards of grass tee hitting practise area, 285 yards of hitting area, 9 target greens with bunkers, 9-hole-par-3, sub-junior golf course and a putt golf course with a pot bunker.
