New Golf Superintendent Selected at Diamondhead Country Club (Sept 2)

September 2, 2015 – Steven E. Smith has accepted the position as Golf Superintendent for the Diamondhead Country Club on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast.

Smith joins the Diamondhead team from the Arnold Palmer-designed Bridges Golf Course at Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Other prior experience includes working at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Texas; Walden on Lake Conroe and Woodlands Country Club in Montgomery, Texas; and Northwood Club in Dallas.

Smith holds a Bachelor’s of Science double major degree in Agronomy and Entomology from Texas A & M.

Conveniently located between Mobile & New Orleans, DCC is accessible off I-10 at exit 16 and welcomes public play. Diamondhead is the only facility on the MS Gulf Coast that offers 36 championship golf holes – 18 each at the Cardinal and Pine courses. Stay & play packages are available with DCC lodging partners. With the addition of the Golf Academy of Diamondhead, golfers can book stay & play packages that include professional golf instruction in the indoor/outdoor state of the art golf training facility.
