Steel Green Manufacturing has announced a series of updates to its 2026 SGXL and SG54 spreader/sprayer models, highlighted by the inclusion of Opti-Rate as a standard feature across both machines.
First introduced in May 2025 as an optional add-on, Opti-Rate is Steel Green’s rate-controlled spray system designed to help operators apply products more accurately and efficiently. Following strong adoption and positive operator feedback, the company has moved the technology into its core 2026 lineup.
Opti-Rate addresses one of the most common challenges in spray applications—uneven coverage—by using pulse width modulation technology to automatically manage application rates. The system compensates during turns, independently regulates flow and pressure, and maintains consistent droplet size to help deliver uniform results across varying terrain and operating speeds.
Operators can monitor and fine-tune application rates through a straightforward onboard display, allowing them to slow down in tight or sensitive areas without risking turf damage or over-application.
Beyond the Opti-Rate upgrade, Steel Green has also redesigned the spray tank on both the SGXL and SG54 for 2026. The updated tank includes an integrated lip to reduce spills during filling, along with clearer volume markings to improve accuracy and ease of use.
