October 23, 2015 – The TurfEx TT5000 spreader/sprayer now includes a standard boom kit, further maximizing the efficiency of lawn care professionals. The unit also boasts electric start, an adjustable electric spray pump, and a hand-held spray wand.
The new stainless-steel boom kit offers a spray width of 120 inches and is height adjustable, giving operators more control to spray chemicals where they want them, which maximizes effectiveness and limits waste. The boom is also foldable, allowing for easy transport through narrow openings, such as gates. When removed, a stainless-steel bumper protects the boomless nozzle.
Driven by a 7-horsepower Subaru EX210 engine with electric start, the TT5000 includes a 0.95-gallon fuel tank and features a heavy-duty transmission with two forward gears, neutral and reverse. A hand-operated transmission disc brake and foot-controlled sulky band brake allow smooth, confident operation of the unit, and the machine’s low center of gravity further increases safety.
A 17-gallon tank system has a single port for easy filling and a balanced design for enhanced stability. When not using the boom kit, the front-mounted boomless nozzle can spray between 3- and 11-feet wide, or one can use the professional-duty spray wand. The unit’s electric pump can be turned on while the engine isn’t running, allowing the operator to spot spray using only battery power.
The hopper of the TT5000 holds up to 150 pounds, or 3 cubic feet, of material, which can be spread up to 11 feet wide by the 12-inch polyethylene spinner. A calibration key is provided to set the locking gate for consistent, accurate application of granular material.
Ergonomic fingertip controls allow the operator to easily manage the machine’s functions. A pressure gauge, liquid level gauge, digital tachometer and lubrication indicator come standard to verify the status of the machine. A kill switch is also provided for emergency stopping.
Designed for minimum maintenance, the TT5000 is constructed from corrosion-resistant materials and contains unique protective shrouding to prevent material build-up and rust. Additionally, there are few moving parts and cables to service, and the engine is easily accessible.
Other standard features include knobby-tread front tires, rear turf tires, a double-bearing sulky pivot, side deflector and extra nozzles. The unit is backed by a two-year limited warranty, and the engine comes with a five-year warranty.
