Underhill releases new sports field sprinkle (Feb 9)

Underhill International has released the M-180S sports field sprinkler offering a range of innovative features, including a 177-foot wide radius and integral electric valve-in-head. The M-180S is designed for use on natural and synthetic turf fields and installs out of the area of play for greater safety and easier maintenance. The M-180S is the newest addition to Underhill’s expanding line of Mirage long-throw sprinklers, which also includes the M-115, M-125 and M-160.

Featuring German engineering and manufacturing, the powerful M-180S is built to perform for up to 25 years. It is constructed from engineered plastic with stainless steel and brass components.

Fully adjustable from 30 degrees to 360 degrees, the M-180S can irrigate a regulation football, soccer or hockey field with just six heads. Variable rotation speeds deliver precise, consistent coverage and can efficiently water a sports field in minimal time. The M-180S is also used to quickly cool and clean synthetic turf surfaces before play.

The M-180S can be specified solely as a sprinkler head or as part of Underhill’s Total Solutions Kit with ductile iron swing joints, isolation valves, valve boxes, quick couplers, 2Wire Control System and AutoCad installation details, which include bidding specifications and exploded parts diagrams.

With a piston-drive system, the M-180S operates at 58 to 115 psi, distributing from 113 to 302 gallons per minute. With lower operating pressure, the M-180S is a practical solution when reviewing long-term operational costs.
