The West Bay Club, a luxury community in Estero, Fla., recently kicked off its yearlong 25th anniversary with a ‘Silver Celebration’! Monthly events throughout 2023 for residents and members have already included “A Taste of 25 Years” featuring popular culinary trends of the decades, as well as a “West Bay Early Days” presentation highlighting its history at the community’s learning center dubbed the “West Bay Academy.”
In 1998, the 868-acre community located between Fort Myers and Naples welcomed its first residents and a year later the club unveiled its Pete and P.B. Dye-designed golf course. Throughout the 2000s, the community grew in number of residences, offering single-family homes, condominiums and high-rise condominiums, as well as member amenities. Today, members enjoy a host of new and newly renovated amenities, including the aforementioned golf course that was refreshed in 2018 by Fry/Straka, and the updated Golf House, which was unveiled to members in January 2021. In early 2022, the West Bay Club completed construction of the Niblick pub, the community’s Bay House activity center, a new poolside restaurant Aqua Café, and a new poolside fitness building and athletics and wellness center. And late last year, construction plans were approved on West Bay’s final residential tower – The Island – with 86 units overlooking the golf course, Estero Bay and the Gulf of Mexico.

The third and final phase of a $20 million-plus renovation project is currently underway at West Bay Club’s private ocean-side amenity, the Beach Club. Located on the Gulf of Mexico, the old Key West-style building is being completely rebuilt, upgraded and expanded.
The member-owned private golf club and community is located adjacent to Estero Bay and borders 500 acres of nature preserve and wetlands. Residents of West Bay declare “this is their someday.” Troon Privé, the private club operations division of Troon, manages the award-winning club and community association.

Resident and Member Lynn Liddle shares, “Living at West Bay is certainly realizing our ‘someday’ dreams. So much progress is happening here, yet we maintain the charm and friendliness established at our beginning. Happy anniversary to all our West Bay family!”
