New Golf Superintendent Selected at Diamondhead Country Club

Steven E. Smith has accepted the position as Golf Superintendent for the Diamondhead Country Club on Mississippi’s Gulf Coast.

Smith joins the Diamondhead team from the Arnold Palmer-designed Bridges Golf Course at Hollywood Casino in Bay St. Louis, MS.

Other prior experience includes working at Stonebriar Country Club in Frisco, Texas; Walden on Lake Conroe and Woodlands Country Club in Montgomery, Texas; and Northwood Club in Dallas.

Smith holds a Bachelor’s of Science double major degree in Agronomy and Entomology from Texas A & M.

Conveniently located between Mobile & New Orleans, DCC is accessible off I-10 at exit 16 and welcomes public play. Diamondhead is the only facility on the MS Gulf Coast that offers 36 championship golf holes – 18 each at the Cardinal and Pine courses. Stay & play packages are available with DCC lodging partners. With the addition of the Golf Academy of Diamondhead, golfers can book stay & play packages that include professional golf instruction in the indoor/outdoor state of the art golf training facility. A full service restaurant and 19th Hole, 8 hydra clay tennis courts (lighted), a marina and an airport are some of the other property features.
