Quali-Pro’s Pro Advises Ordering Grub Insecticides Immediately

Quali-Pro, an entity of Control Solutions, Inc., has been in the business of professional pest control for a long time; long enough to recognize the need to stay ahead of the curve when it comes to developing technology. Control Solutions began as a family owned business in 1958 and now offers the Quali-Pro line specifically to provide professionals with effective, affordable solutions. Control Solutions’ parent company, Makhteshim-Agan Industries, is the largest post-patent manufacturer and formulator in the world, puttin Quali-Pro in a unique position among post-patent companies. Essentially, Agro Chemicals is all that they do.

“Formulation technology has been one of our strengths since Day One,” says Quali-Pro’s Technical Services Manager Jerry Corbett. “It’s what helps us keep our promise of ’greater-than or equal-to’ to all our customers. If a Golf Course Superintendent has a question about a Quali-Pro product, they can call me. All of our products are university-tested; we never sell anything less.”

The commitment entails a significant amount of attention paid to research and development. The improvements result in a continually evolving list of products. One example of this is their product ENCLAVE, the first quad-formulated multi-site product of its kind in North America. The patent-pending formula is a new broad-spectrum fungicide providing a powerful weapon in the war on fungal diseases in turfgrass and ornamentals. ENCLAVE delivers effective, long-lasting protection from anthracnose, brown patch, dollar spot, snow mold and broad range of ornamental diseases.

The arrival of spring herald’s new growth and along with it, comes the turf and ornamental insect pests. “Early May is the time to order your grub control products and get them in your barn so you’re ready for the arrival of adult beetles,” says Corbett. “The timing for grubs is usually late May to early July. But it’s important to keep checking with your nearest University’s Extension web pages. Several of our Land-grant Universities (NCSU, Purdue, Rutgers, OSU, MSU, UMASS, etc.) publish when the adult beatles are seen. That’s the time to apply Imidacloprid insecticide for grub control so watch out for your local University posting.”

Quali-Pro offers a number of products to treat grubs, as well as pesky weeds lingering from your earlier spring applications. For these, there are powerful herbicides, particularly 2D for the control of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds and 2DQ with three active ingredients that provides superior control of annual and perennial broadleaf weeds in warm season and cool season turf grasses.

Quali-Pro solutions are available to deal with every exigency including tip-to-root protection and enhance turf vigor with their Fosetyl-Al 80 WDG fungicide. It delivers proven control of Pythium, Yellow Tuft, Phytophthora and other diseases in turf, ornamentals and bedding plants.

“Plus we’ll soon be offering a post-patent azoxystroblin fungicide called Strobe, he says. Visit our web page at”
